Where have all the posts gone?

Recently, I have been absent from the blog world. It's funny how work can get in the way of your personal life. There was a time when I would browse various blogs during my work day and read those that had new posts, and even come back to read the comments people had left. However, those days have come few and far between as of late. So, now that I have a few minutes I thought I might drop in and let flow the meanderings of my mind.

It is about 2am on a Thursday night. Luckily, I do not have to work in the morning. Not that it is all the uncommon for me to stay up this late on a work night. I guess that is what you call it once you get out of school. You know, your parents used to have a different set of rules for "school nights", but once you have completed your academic career you can't really call it a school night.

Anyhow, tomorrow I am not working because I am heading to... well... I am not really sure where I am headed. A group of us are going to Mississippi to help in the rebuilding process. The thing is, I have no clue what city we are headed to. I know it is somewhere near Biloxi. So, we are going down and spending the weekend helping out. I am not sure what to expect. The only thing I have heard from people is, "Oh, it's gonna be hot down there." But, I just looked at the 5-day forecast for Biloxi, and it is actually supposed to be cooler there than in the triangle. Regardless of the weather, I am looking forward to the opportunity to help some people out. We are scheduled to depart at 6am. Yeah, in like four hours. I guess that means I should get some rest.

Also, if you write too much at once people will not read it.

Quick list of things I want to do soon: Find a house to buy, ruby on rails tutorials, pay off all our credit card debt, learn to play the guitar, think of a super awsome name for a church, figure out what I want to do with my career, comment on Jeffrey's blog, and finish putting all my photos on my flickr.

Christians and AIDS

Someone recently said, "AIDS is our leprosy."

I was perusing the good ole ARPANET this afternoon and came across an article by the Purpose Driven Wife, Kay Warren. The story, subtitled, "What would Jesus do when confronted by AIDS?", was a commentary on the churches response, or lack thereof, twenty-five years into the HIV/AIDS pandemic.

The article was followed by several comments on the article that were collected by CNN via email. The comments surface a wide array of the opinions held by people inside and outside the church.

Check it out. Christians must do more to combat AIDS, comfort victims

I would love to hear what you have to say about it.
